La misión Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Huasinapi fue fundada por el jesuita Everardo Helen con la financiación del marqués de Villapuente de la Peña (España) el día 12 de diciembre (día dedicado a la Virgen de Guadalupe) de 1720 en el asentamiento cochimí de la Sierra de La Giganta, a unos 40 km al sur de Mulegé, en Baja California Sur (México). El topónimo Huasinapí es de origen cochimí, pero se desconoce su significado.
Previamente, en el mes de septiembre de 1719 los padres misioneros Juan de Ugarte y Sebastián Sistiaga exploraron la zona en que se levantó la Misión de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe.
Al declinar la población por las enfermedades que trajeron los europeos a la zona, la misión fue abandonada por los misioneros domínicos en 1795, los supervivientes fueron reubicados en la Misión de La Purísima de Cadegomó. Solo quedan algunas ruinas del sitio misionero, como muros, diques y cementerios. Otras construcciones han desaparecido con el paso del tiempo.

The mission Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe de Huasinapi was founded by the Jesuit Everardo Helen with the financing of the Marquis of Villapuente de la Peña (Spain) on December 12 (day dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe) of 1720 in the Cochimí settlement of the Sierra de La Giganta, about 40 km south of Mulegé, in Baja California Sur (Mexico). The toponym Huasinapí is of Cochimí origin, but its meaning is unknown.
Previously, in the month of September 1719, the missionary priests Juan de Ugarte and Sebastián Sistieaga explored the area where the Mission of Our Lady of Guadalupe was built.
When the population declined due to the diseases that the Europeans brought to the area, the mission was abandoned by the Dominican missionaries in 1795, the survivors were relocated to the Mission of La Purisima de Cadegomó. Only a few ruins of the mission site remain, such as walls, dikes, and cemeteries. Other buildings have disappeared over time.
