La paz, La paz
Fundada en 1720 por los misioneros jesuitas Juan de Ugarte y Jaime Bravo, los cuales llegan a la Bahía de La Paz a bordo del barco “El Triunfo de la Cruz”, que había salido del Puerto de Loreto.
Motivados por la hostilidad de los indígenas y falta de agua, la Misión de La Paz fue trasladada más al sur, al lugar donde se enclava hoy la población de Todos Santos.
La construcción del actual templo fue iniciada en 1861 por orden del Obispo Juan Francisco Escalante y Moreno, en el lugar donde la Orden de Frailes Jesuitas había fundado una misión durante el siglo XVIII, la Catedral de Nuestra Señora de La Paz es la sede de la Diócesis de La Paz. Está ubicada en el centro de la ciudad, en la intersección entre la calle Revolución de 1910 y la calle 5 de mayo, en frente del Jardín Velazco. Sus dos torres fueron rígidas respectivamente en 1910 y 1920. Su fachada es sencilla y en su interior se puede admirar una réplica del sagrario de la Basílica de San Pedro en Roma, así como hermosos retablos que datan del siglo XVIII.

MISSION OF OUR LADY OF PEACE, AIRAPÍ (1720-1861)
Founded in 1720 by the Jesuit missionaries Juan de Ugarte and Jaime Bravo, who arrived in the Bay of La Paz aboard the ship 'El Triunfo de la Cruz', which had left the Port of Loreto.
Motivated by the hostility of the indigenous people and the lack of water, the La Paz Mission was transferred further south, to the place where the population of Todos Santos is located today.
The construction of the current temple began in 1861 by order of Bishop Juan Francisco Escalante y Moreno, in the place where the Order of Jesuit Friars had founded a mission during the 18th century, the Cathedral of Our Lady of La Paz is the headquarters of the Diocese of La Paz. It is located in the center of the city, at the intersection between Revolución de 1910 street and 5 de mayo street, in front of the Velazco Garden. Its two towers were erected in 1910 and 1920, respectively. Its façade is simple and inside you can admire a replica of the tabernacle of St. Peter's Basilica in Rome, as well as beautiful altarpieces dating from the 18th century.
